First up, if you've done any trawling of the internet for this stuff you will probably have come across Stephen Proctor and his site Illuminate. He's way ahead of most of the pack when it comes to Visual Worship, and works with a wide range of worship leaders - from Darlene Zschech to All Sons & Daughters. Get to know a little of what he knows through the articles, his revised ‘Guidebook For Visual Worship’ and lovingly-prepared backgrounds and textures to buy and get your environmental projection off to a flying start. Oh, and you can also hear and see Stephen talk a little about Visual Worship here.

With stacks of backgrounds - still and motion - as well as lyric videos for dozens of great worship hymns and modern songs, and some decent looking mini movies to get the service moving in a different direction, WorshipHouseMedia is a superb resource for the local church looking to invest in some good media. It might not all be suited to your particular culture, but there’s enough here to pick and choose from. And with names like Hipster Harvest Sky, Special Particle Heat and Inspiral Dark Stillness, you can't go wrong!

You can't beat a good bit of time lapse footage, and Vimeo is a treasure trove of the stuff. Mr TSO and Henry Jun Wah Lee are two of the best.

This page on CautiousCreative is a great guide to loads of the best resources out there, compiled by someone who knows what she’s talking about.

Oh, and if you’re free and can get to Nashville next month, you should really consider attuning SALT - the Visual Worship conference.

Canyons - Song Devotional

Often times in our walk with the Lord, we can experience seasons where we feel distant from God or we feel like we’re lacking something. One thing that’s really beautiful about the love of God is that His love can fill us to a point where we just overflow with hope and joy and peace.
