DevotionalDEAD THINGS TO LIFE - Song Devotional

One of the central pillars of the Christian faith is the belief that God has power over death, and is able to raise the dead back to life, as he did with his Jesus. Although It’s probably unlikely that most of us will ever experience seeing someone raised from the dead in person, that same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in each one of us.

'And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.'

[Romans 8:11]

Thought2 Thought:

Some friends of mine were excited to finally fall pregnant after years of trying, however their excitement soon turned to anguish when the doctors revealed that there was complications with the pregnancy. They were advised to terminate the pregnancy as the foetus did not stand much chance of surviving to full term. After prayer they decided to commit the pregnancy into God's hands and carry the baby through until full-term. In the eyes of the medical professionals there was no hope, but my friends believed that God is able to breathe life into dead places. They rallied hundreds of friends to pray with them, and for them, during this dark time. Whatever the outcome of their pregnancy, they were determined to trust God. Their son was born 9 months later, and stunned the very same doctors that had given him little chance of survival.

Invitation Invitation:

We all have areas in our life that feel “dead.” It might be a relationship, or perhaps a dream you once had? Maybe you were once passionate about something, but lately it feels like it’s a lost cause? I believe God wants to breathe his life into the “dead” areas of our lives - over the lost dreams and hopes that we once had.

This is an invitation for us to open our hearts once again and allow God to begin his process of restoration and healing over the broken areas, as he breathe new life into us.

Praying Prayer:

Lord, you see me and you know me. I open my heart and life to you. Please breathe your life into the dead areas of my life, and bring your healing and restoration.

Amen

what do you need to detach from?

Sometimes we can get a little too good at making worship cocktails. We get used to adding so-called essentials like justice, intimacy, abandonment, warfare, to our sung worship that we reach a point where we simply need to detach. Trouble is, detaching is a seriously frightening business...

Greatest Hallelujah lyric video

Greatest Hallelujah is a song that talks about the everlasting worship in heaven that we join in with every time we lift our eyes and our voices to Jesus. Wherever you are watching this video see if you can't join in that worship yourself today.

This Time Tomorrow

This time tomorrow - if not already - you’ll need no reminding whatsoever of how hectic this time of year is. If you’re a parent, church leader or in any way conscious, doing nothing is not exactly an option at Christmas. And yet, it’s at the heart of the Christmas story...
